Children's social care complaints policy

This policy explains how we handle complaints about children's social care.

Introduction

Islington Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in need and children in care. We value all feedback and recognise that complaints, compliments, and comments are vital for improving our services.

This policy sets out how we handle statutory complaints about children’s social care in line with the Children Act 1989 Representations Procedure (England) Regulations 2006 and national guidance.

The policy should be read in conjunction with Islington Council’s complaints policy, which sets out our general approach to complaints, including our expectation of complainants.
