Elections on 2 May

Elections for the next Mayor of London and London Assembly members, as well as the by-election for Hillrise ward, will take place on Thursday 2 May.

You must now show photo ID when you vote at polling stations. See a full list of accepted forms of ID. You can also apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate in place of photo ID. The deadline to apply for this is 5pm, Wednesday 24 April.

Islington Town Hall will be closed due to planned maintenance work. Death registrations (by appointment only) will be offered at 222 Upper Street. No other services will be available during this time.

Normal opening hours resume at Islington Town Hall, 9am – 12pm and 1pm - 4.30pm on weekdays (registrations by appointment only).

Islington Town Hall closure

The Town Hall building will be closed to residents for three days in the new year, from Tuesday 2 to Thursday 4 January 2024, as we carry out some essential electrical works.

Please do not visit the Town Hall during this time. 

Recycling and waste collections

Rubbish and recycling collections will happen a day later than usual starting from Monday 25 December 2023. Weekend collections will stay the same.

Collections will take place on your usual collection days from Monday 8 January 2024.

We will also be collecting real Christmas trees between Tuesday 2 January and Sunday 14 January.
