Some libraries will be closed on Thursday 7 May

N4 Library, and the children’s libraries at Mildmay and Finsbury libraries, will be closed on Thursday 7 May because they are being used as polling stations for the local elections. All other libraries will be open as normal.

Local council elections - Polling stations now open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 7 May

Here’s what you need to know to vote in person on Thursday 7 May.

  • Polling stations are open 7am to 10pm - check your poll card or the 'Where do I vote?' website for yours
  • Bring photo ID - you cannot vote without an accepted form of ID
  • You do not need your poll card - if you are registered, you can vote
  • All our polling stations are wheelchair accessible and staff are there to help
  • If you have a disability, find out what we can provide to help you vote at your polling station

Renew your loans

How to renew your library loans both online and in person.

Renew online

Go to the library account login page.

Log in

  1. Enter your library membership and PIN number.
  2. You will see a list of your borrowed items.
  3. Renew all items at once or choose individual items to renew.

Renewing eBooks or eAudiobooks

If you are renewing eBooks or eAudiobooks, please use BorrowBox.

Renew in-person

If you have any problem renewing online ring 020 7527 6900 during Central library opening hours or email HLCS@islington.gov.uk.

You can also renew at your nearest branch library. Please bring your membership card with you.

Conditions

  • You may not be able to renew an item if it has been reserved by someone else.
  • You can renew books, music items and DVDs without bringing them into the library, up to 10 occasions.
  • If you still want the item after renewing 10 times, you will need to bring the items into the library to be cleared and re-issued.
