We advertise vacant properties weekly on the Home Connections website. Bidding opens every Thursday and closes Sunday midnight.
We will let you know what size property you can bid for, and provide you with your User ID and Pin number which you need to be able to bid for properties.
You may also wish to .check to see the average points successful bidders had for different property sizes and areas
If you are the successful bidder for a property please have your documents ready to provide us as we will need these to check your application. You will have 48 hours to provide them from the time they are requested and if you do not provide them in this time you will miss out on the property.
We do not have the resources to contact unsuccessful applicants individually. If you have bid for a property or attended a viewing and we have not contacted you within seven days, please assume that you have not been successful. We update the property details on Homeconnection regularly - you can check the status of the listing to see if your bid was successful.
The documents we need are:
- Proof of identity (ID) for all the people moving in with you - either birth certificate or passport
- Proof that you are still living at the address you applied from – copies of official letters, bank statements, utility bills
You may also be asked for:
- Proof that you have been asked to leave your home – copy of your notice seeking possession
- Proof of your immigration status
We may also carry out a home visit.

You can also call 0845 402 7883 to use the 24 hour automated telephone service where you can bid or check how your bids are progressing.
Bid by text:
You will need to send a text message to 0780 014 0724 with your User ID, Pin number and property reference number in the following format:
For example, if your User ID is 876543, your Pin number is 010164 and you bid on property 123456, your message will be bid#876543#010164#123456.
Issues with the Home Connections website
If you experience any problems accessing the website you can still bid using the automated telephone line by calling 0845 402 7883. You will need your six-figure User ID, PIN number and the property reference number of the property you want to bid for.
Recent changes to your points or priority may not be reflected immediately on the Home Connections site. If you think that your points are incorrect, or you should be able to bid on a property but can't, please contact us on 020 7527 4140 or 020 7527 4143.
