We advertise vacant properties weekly on the Home Connections website. Bidding opens every Thursday and closes Sunday midnight.
We will let you know what size property you can bid for, and provide you with your User ID and Pin number which you need to be able to bid for properties.
You may wish to see how different-sized council properties are distributed across Islington and your chances of being housed or rehoused
If you are the successful bidder for a property please have your documents ready to provide us as we will need these to check your application. You will have 48 hours to provide them from the time they are requested and if you do not provide them in this time you will miss out on the property.
We do not have the resources to contact unsuccessful applicants individually. If you have bid for a property or attended a viewing and we have not contacted you within seven days, please assume that you have not been successful. We update the property details on a regular basis. You can check the status of the listing to see if your bid was successful.
The documents we need are:
Proof of identity (ID) for all the people moving in with you - either birth certificate or passport
Proof that you are still living at the address you applied from – copies of official letters, bank statements, utility bills
You may also be asked for:
Proof that you have been asked to leave your home – copy of your notice seeking possession
Proof of your immigration status
We may also carry out a home visit.
