Pedestrian drop-off at Reuse and Recycling Centre closed

Due to planned improvement works, the pedestrian drop-off point at the Hornsey Street Reuse and Recycling Centre will be closed between 1-15 October.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. There are lots of other ways to recycle or dispose of items on our recycling on the go webpage.

Household waste

We provide rubbish collections to all households in Islington. We have a duty of care to collect and dispose of household waste.

Residents have a duty of care to ensure waste is placed in appropriate bags and bins and put out for collection at the specified collection times. If you are handing waste over for disposal, you must ensure they have a valid waste carrier’s license and a receipt for the disposal of your items.

You can dispose of your household recycling at recycling points in your area. Please don't leave waste outside the alongside the bins if they are full or locked. This is fly-tipping and you could be issued a Fixed Penalty Notice or face prosecution.

Green waste, builders waste and bulky items and hazardous waste require separate collections. We provide a green waste and bulky waste collection service that carry a small charge. Private companies can be used, but it is the resident’s duty to make sure a registered waste carrier removes the items.
