Double check your parking ticket before paying

We have had some reports of fake parking tickets (PCNs) left on vehicles in Islington and neighbouring boroughs.

If you get a PCN, please check:

  • it has the Islington Council logo, crest and 'for a more equal future' in the top-right on the front
  • the back has instructions on how to pay including the web address islington.gov.uk/pcnpay - if you use this you will see you will see a green band at the top with our logo
  • the back also tells you how to challenge a PCN
  • it has a detachable slip that says "do not pay the civil enforcement officer"

Our PCNs do not have a QR code that you scan with your phone camera to pay. Do not scan any QR code on a PCN.

Parking for disabled people and the Blue Badge scheme

How and where to park as a disabled person in Islington including applying for and renewing a Blue Badge, free resident permits and what to do if your Blue Badge is lost or stolen.

Dedicated parking bays for Blue Badge holders

You may be able to apply for your own disabled parking bay if:

  • there is no other parking within a reasonable walking distance of your home or workplace
  • you are a Blue Badge holder and you can't walk more than 20 metres (you may need a medical assessment first).

If your application is successful, it can take up to six months to install a bay. This is because we must consult local people first. After that, there are a number of legal documents for us to draw up and complete before we can install the bay.
