Double check your parking ticket before paying

We have had some reports of fake parking tickets (PCNs) left on vehicles in Islington and neighbouring boroughs.

If you get a PCN, please check:

  • it has the Islington Council logo, crest and 'for a more equal future' in the top-right on the front
  • the back has instructions on how to pay including the web address islington.gov.uk/pcnpay - if you use this you will see you will see a green band at the top with our logo
  • the back also tells you how to challenge a PCN
  • it has a detachable slip that says "do not pay the civil enforcement officer"

Our PCNs do not have a QR code that you scan with your phone camera to pay. Do not scan any QR code on a PCN.

Cancel a parking permit

How to cancel an unwanted parking permit and get a refund for any months you haven't used.

You can cancel your parking permit at any time. You should do this if you:

  • are moving to a new address or moving your business to new premises in a new area of Islington
  • move out of the borough.

If you are staying in Islington, you will need to buy a new permit at your new address or premises if you still need to park at your new location.

When you don't need to cancel

You don't need to cancel if you:

  • move house or your business to a different address in the same controlled parking zone (CPZ) you were in - you can just update the address in your parking account
  • are replacing your vehicle. Find out how to update your vehicle on your permit.

Refunds and admin fees

Refunds can take up to 28 days to process after we have replied to your request. We will take an admin fee of £32.80 for all refunds except for a change of vehicle.

You will receive a refund for any full months left on a permit you don't need anymore.
