When you move on from your temporary accommodation you will need to contact your temporary accommodation officer in the council to:
- Make arrangement for handing back the keys to your temporary accommodation provider
- Tell them your new address
You must also tell the Housing Benefit and Council Tax teams about your new address. The best way to do this, is to telephone the Revenues and Benefits helpline on 0207 527 4990.
When you leave, you need to:
- Remove all your belongings and leave the property tidy and in a clean state
- Read your gas and electricity meters and let your suppliers know that you have moved
If you are a Genesis client you need to contact your Genesis housing officer regarding keys and a forwarding address. Please also let the Islington Council Tax and Housing Benefit department know that you are moving.
Tell us you're moving
Please choose the situation that most applies to you so that we can update our records and send you new bill. If your household has a council tax account with Islington, please have the account number ready.
Parking to move home
For most domestic removals you can park near your Islington home for free
