Islington Council nursery fees

We pay for a portion (subsidy) of childcare for children that are six months and older in all our children’s and early years centres, and some voluntary sector community nurseries. This helps parents and carers in work or studying get local, affordable, high-quality childcare.

Costs based on household income

Your costs are on a 'sliding scale' based on household income. We ask for evidence of your income so that we know which charging band to put you in.

Parents who live in Islington and non-residents can also apply for non-subsidised or ‘marketed’ places, but Islington residents get first choice.

For full details of charges, including all the income bands, read the early years charging policy.

Free early learning

Some 2-year-olds can get 15 hours free early learning each week during term time. All 3 and 4-year-olds can get 15 hours free during term-time and some working families can get an extra 15 hours free (30 hours). See our free early learning webpages for more information and how to apply.
