Local council elections - Polling stations now open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 7 May

Here’s what you need to know to vote in person on Thursday 7 May.

  • Polling stations are open 7am to 10pm - check your poll card or the 'Where do I vote?' website for yours
  • Bring photo ID - you cannot vote without an accepted form of ID
  • You do not need your poll card - if you are registered, you can vote
  • All our polling stations are wheelchair accessible and staff are there to help
  • If you have a disability, find out what we can provide to help you vote at your polling station

Casual street trading payment form

All casual market trading day payments now need to be made using our online payment form.

You can pay for trading at a particular market on a chosen date only, provided you are registered to trade at that market. 

Once payment is made you will receive a confirmation email with your trading receipt. Your receipt will allow you to trade on your chosen date only, and no other date. Simply show your receipt to the council officer on site at the advised time.

Please note: 

  • You cannot trade if don’t have a receipt confirming payment for the correct market and date.
  • Please check your market and trading day before completing your payment.
  • Once payment is confirmed your choices cannot be changed and all payments are non-refundable.
