Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London until Friday.

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs

Apply for a new special treatments premises licence

Who needs to apply and how to apply for a new special treatments premises licence.

Overview

If you run an establishment for ‘special treatments’ in Islington you will require a special treatments premises licence.

An 'establishment for special treatments' means any premises used for providing:

  • massage
  • manicure
  • acupuncture
  • tattooing/micropigmentation
  • cosmetic piercing of any part of the body
  • chiropody
  • beauty treatments involving the application of light, electric or vapour
  •  sauna, steam baths or other baths, and
  •  any other treatment of a like kind.

Licences are granted on an annual basis, and an application for renewal needs to be made each year.
