Elections on 2 May

Elections for the next Mayor of London and London Assembly members, as well as the by-election for Hillrise ward, will take place on Thursday 2 May.

You must now show photo ID when you vote at polling stations. See a full list of accepted forms of ID. You can also apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate in place of photo ID. The deadline to apply for this is 5pm, Wednesday 24 April.

Health and safety

Islington's commercial environmental health service ensures that workplaces are safe and that employees and people affected by work activities are not exposed to health and safety risks by:

  • carrying out inspections of workplaces
  • offering legal advice to Islington businesses
  • investigating reportable accidents that occur in the workplace
  • investigating complaints about unsafe premises or practices
  • carrying out project work on specific business activities or common work practices
  • working in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive, other local authorities and businesses on specific projects

All complaints are investigated in accordance with the Regulators’ Compliance Code and Enforcement Concordat. There is also a Public Protection Enforcement policy which you can view in related documents below.
