Local council elections - Polling day tomorrow (Thursday 7 May)

Here’s what you need to know to vote in person on Thursday 7 May.

  • Polling stations are open 7am to 10pm - check your poll card or the 'Where do I vote?' website for yours
  • Bring photo ID - you cannot vote without an accepted form of ID
  • You do not need your poll card - if you are registered, you can vote
  • All our polling stations are wheelchair accessible and staff are there to help
  • If you have a disability, let us know now if you need anything else to help you vote at your polling station

Complete the fields on the next page to apply for an Individual Exemption permit.

Fields marked with an * are mandatory. Please be prepared to submit evidence (digital documents, scans or clear photos) showing that the applicant/their child(ren):


  • find it considerably difficult to sit in a vehicle for an extended period of time due to a disability or chronic health condition
  • experience overwhelming psychological distress from sitting in a vehicle or re-routing of trips due to a disability or health condition.

Depending on what form of evidence is submitted, applicants may be asked to provide additional evidence.

Islington Council may seek further opinion on the difficulties you identify as part of this application by a professional with experience of conditions such as those identified in the form.

As part of the application process, applicants may also be contacted by phone to discuss details of the evidence they have submitted and the difficulties experienced while travelling by vehicle.

You will also be asked for vehicle registration information (your own or someone else’s).
