Double check your parking ticket before paying

We have had some reports of fake parking tickets (PCNs) left on vehicles in Islington and neighbouring boroughs.

If you get a PCN, please check:

  • it has the Islington Council logo, crest and 'for a more equal future' in the top-right on the front
  • the back has instructions on how to pay including the web address islington.gov.uk/pcnpay - if you use this, you will see a green band at the top with our logo
  • the back also tells you how to challenge a PCN
  • it has a detachable slip that says "do not pay the civil enforcement officer"

Our PCNs do not have a QR code that you scan with your phone camera to pay. Do not scan any QR code on a PCN.

All new parents living in Islington can apply for 40 hours of free visitor vouchers so that family and friends can park near your home. We send free parent visitor vouchers to you in the post after you have applied and have been approved.

Vehicles with one of these visitor vouchers can park in:

  • any resident permit holder bay or resident shared-use bay
  • for the amount of time and within the zone it is valid for. You can check your parking zone by typing your postcode into our 'Your local area' search.

How to apply

You can apply for these paper vouchers online from three months before the birth and up to three months after the birth.

You need to upload a photo of either:

  • a MAT B1 form – if you apply using this document the name of the person applying for the vouchers must match the name on the MAT B1
  • your baby’s birth or adoption certificate.

You should register for a parking account if you haven't already got one.
