School Streets Consultation

Tell us what you think about the School Streets trial

This consultation has ended

Start date 21 February 2022
End date 20 March 2022

In January 2021, as part of our commitment to make our streets cleaner, greener and healthier, Islington Council introduced a further five trial School Streets across the borough.

A School Street temporarily prevents vehicles from driving on the roads near a school to become a pedestrian and cycle zone during the school’s opening and closing times.

By closing roads outside schools, this will help to reduce congestion and pollution at the school gates as well as make it easier and safer for children to get to and from school.

For more information on the changes to individual schools, please visit Islington School Streets.

Monitoring

You can read the full pre-consultation monitoring report for the Phase 2 School Streets trials in Islington. This report includes data 11 months on from the launch of the School Streets trials in January 2021.

Consultation

The School Streets consultation has now closed. Thank you to everyone who provided their feedback.

The consultation results and next steps will be published in June 2022.
