What we do
Islington is an increasingly unaffordable place to do business, especially for small and medium enterprises. Protecting local business is vital to Islington's economic growth and resilience.
We appoint operators to run the workspaces we secure through planning obligations. Instead of paying rent, operators charge affordable rents and deliver a range of services that benefit the local community and businesses. View our existing affordable workspaces.
Who we partner with
We want to work with organisations who share our ambition to create places where local people and businesses can help shape their local economy, and can deliver a range of services that benefit the local community and businesses.
To do this, we ask our operator partners to provide social value. This means providing benefits to the local community such as:
- creating employment, skills and training opportunities for residents and young people
- providing first class business advice and support
- supporting the development of Islington’s local business clusters
- creating inclusive spaces, with the community at their heart
- making workspace genuinely affordable for local micro and small businesses
