Local council elections - Polling day tomorrow (Thursday 7 May)

Here’s what you need to know to vote in person on Thursday 7 May.

  • Polling stations are open 7am to 10pm - check your poll card or the 'Where do I vote?' website for yours
  • Bring photo ID - you cannot vote without an accepted form of ID
  • You do not need your poll card - if you are registered, you can vote
  • All our polling stations are wheelchair accessible and staff are there to help
  • If you have a disability, let us know now if you need anything else to help you vote at your polling station

Fireworks licence

You must have a licence in order to store or sell fireworks in Islington. This licence only allows you to sell or store fireworks at certain times of the year.

All licence applications must be submitted to us before the end of October each year to allow us time to process them before key dates. 

When you can sell or store fireworks

This licence only allows you to sell or store fireworks during the following periods:

  • 5 October - 10 November 
  • 26 December - 1 January
  • Chinese New Year (four days before and including the day of Chinese New Year)
  • Diwali (four days before and including the day of Diwali).

Please email trading.standards@islington.gov.uk if you are looking for a licence to sell or store fireworks outside of these dates.
