Invite the Mayor to an event

How you can request the Mayor's attendance at an event.

Every year, the Mayor of Islington attends hundreds of events hosted by communities and organisations across the borough.

If you would like to invite the Mayor to your event, please send an email to TheMayor@islington.gov.uk giving full details of your event, including the time, date and location.

The Mayor’s Office encourages you to submit your invitation at least two weeks in advance of the event so that the office has time to discuss the invitation with the Mayor. Invitations giving less than one weeks’ notice of an event may be refused.

The Mayor’s Office discusses every invitation with the Mayor and will confirm whether the Mayor is available to attend your event in writing.

If the Mayor is available to attend your event, the Mayor’s Office will send you an engagement form to complete which should be returned at least 5 working days before the date of the event.

If the Mayor cannot attend your event, the invitation may be passed on to the Deputy Mayor.

Please note that the Mayor’s Office usually arranges the Mayor’s diary around 4-6 weeks in advance. If you send an invitation a long way in advance and require an RSVP sooner, please let the Mayor’s Office know.

If you would like any adjustments or assistance with inviting the Mayor to your event, please contact the Mayor’s Office and we will assist you.
