Some schools in Islington are entitled to apply for Essential Services Permits for vehicles being used for school duties (although we will not issue permits to facilitate staff commuting).
Each school which qualifies can apply for a maximum of three permits and each permit may have up to four vehicles registered to it. An annual Essential Services Permit costs £353.50.
The school’s head teacher should apply for permits via email.
The application must explain the reason that the permit is needed.
Good quality digital copes, either scans or photographs of applicable vehicle registration documents should also be included.
If the details are unchanged when renewing the permit, the written application and vehicle documents are not required.
