Elections for the next Mayor of London and London Assembly members, as well as the by-election for Hillrise ward, will take place on Thursday 2 May. You must now show photo ID when you vote at polling stations. See a full list of accepted forms of ID.

Visiting hours

The Register Office is open for pre-booked appointments and ceremonies: 

Monday to Friday 9:00am to 4:30pm and Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm (excluding bank and public holidays).

Getting there

By bus: 4, 19, 30, 43.

By tube or train: Highbury and Islington Station. 

By road: the front entrance to the building is on Upper Street, with limited on street parking available within 50 metres.

Parking

There is a small car-park at the front of the Town Hall. There is also limited on-street parking available in Upper Street. Parking is permitted on the northbound side of Upper Street up to 1pm, and on the southbound (where the Town Hall is located) from 1pm onwards; three hours maximum for Blue Badge holders.

Should you require car parking for a visit to the Town Hall please contact the Town Hall reception on 020 7527 3106 / 3109 to book a space.

When booking please provide the following information:

  • Vehicle make
  • Model
  • Colour
  • Registration 
  • Approximate time of arrival
  • Mobile telephone number (not obligatory)

On arrival, please drive your vehicle onto the dark paved area, stop the vehicle, ring reception and one of the access control team will come and remove the parking control bollards to enable you to park.The parking control bollards are a necessary inconvenience to protect the parking spaces for booked users.

Please note, there is no specific parking available for attendees at events held in Islington Assembly Hall other than what is available in local streets and subject to published parking restrictions.
