How to comment or complain about licensed premises

You can comment on current licence applications for new premises, variations to existing premises or on formal reviews. You must comment in line with our licensing objectives.

Licensing objectives

  • The prevention of crime and disorder
  • Public safety
  • The prevention of public nuisance
  • The protection of children from harm

Details of current licence applications are available from the online licensing register. We notify all residents within 50m of premises when a new licence or variation application is made.

Notice of current review applications are shown in the useful documents section below.

Any comments must be received by the legal deadline, which is within 28 days of the application being made. This deadline is displayed on the licensing register with the application details and on the public notice displayed at the premises.

The 'representation form' from the useful documents section can be used to submit representations about a current application to the licensing service. The form also contains further information and advice about making a representation. Once completed the form can be sent by email, by post or delivered by hand, using the licensing service contact details below.
