Elections on 2 May

Elections for the next Mayor of London and London Assembly members, as well as the by-election for Hillrise ward, will take place on Thursday 2 May. Make sure you're registered to vote by midnight on Tuesday 16 April. You can also sign-up to our Voting and Elections bulletin to get reminders and resources to help you vote.

Special rates for charities and places of worship

We can provide free recycling and low-cost waste collections to charities and places of worship.

We provide weekly free recycling and subsidised waste collections to charities and places of worship.

What we collect 

We collect:

  • dry mixed recycling
  • food waste.

We will charge for:

  • the collection of dry mixed or food recycling if it is produced from commercial activities, such as charged events
  • any necessary extra collections.

When we collect

Collections take place weekly or nightly. Please contact CommercialWaste@islington.gov.uk for more information.

What we provide

We give you:

  • free green recycling boxes 
  • free clear sacks (where there is no front storage for green recycling boxes)
  • food waste containers
  • compostable liners.
