Disputes and advice about traders

If you have a complaint about a trader or require advice about a disagreement, contact Citizens Advice:

  • Phone the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 03454 04 05 06

The Citizens Advice consumer service is a telephone and online advice service only.

Citizens Advice will give you practical and impartial advice on how to resolve your consumer issue and tell you the law that applies to your situation. Where applicable, they will refer details about reported traders to us and we will contact you if necessary.

The Citizens Advice consumer service works in partnership with trading standards services in all local authorities across the UK.

Finding traders to trust

We have partnered up with Which? Trusted Traders to give our residents greater reassurance when choosing a trader. The traders listed have passed our national Trading Standards database compliance checks.
