Our vision

Cultural opportunities help people of all backgrounds to thrive. The lives of Islington residents of all ages are enriched every day by a wide variety of inspiring experiences reflecting who they are, where they come from and who they could become.

Driving all of this is our mission to create a more equal borough through the Islington Together 2030 Plan, a borough where everyone who lives here is able to benefit from the joy of creativity.

We define culture as any activity – for example, music, sports, cooking and gardening – that enables people to connect creatively with the world around them or gives them a sense of belonging. We each grow up with a range of cultural traditions which add to the diversity of Islington. When we create together, we make links which bridge generations and communities.

Our priorities

Children and young people

All children and young people in Islington have the skills and knowledge to thrive and shape fulfilling lives by experiencing cultural, creative and leisure activities in and out of school.

What could this look like?

"Our kids go to free an affordable activities like singing and sport."
