Arts on estates

Working in partnership with Islington’s Arts and Housing Services and emerging and established local arts providers to transform the range of creative opportunities for residents who find it difficult to access mainstream arts

The Arts Service provides funding, specialist expertise and brokers relationships with arts organisations, whilst Housing Community Development provides funding and detailed knowledge of where need exists for residents on council estates and the best channels of communication for reaching them.

Between March 2019 and March 2021 the council will partner with arts organisations to deliver a project called Treading the Boards. The project will deliver a range of short and long-term community classes and workshops within our estate based and Hub community centres and partner venues.

Treading the Boards is a development of the successful 2017/18 Crossing the Threshold pilot.
