Elections on 2 May

Elections for the next Mayor of London and London Assembly members, as well as the by-election for Hillrise ward, will take place on Thursday 2 May. You must now show photo ID when you vote at polling stations. See a full list of accepted forms of ID.

Notice of Election: London Borough of Islington election of councillors for the Hillrise Ward

Number of councillors to be elected: one (1).

  1. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD on any day after the date of this notice, on Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Friday, 5 April 2024.

  2. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD, during the times stated above.

  3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 2 May 2024.

  4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday, 16 April 2024. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

  5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD by 5pm on Wednesday, 17 April 2024.

  6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.

  7. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD by 5pm on Wednesday, 24 April 2024.

  8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD by 5pm on Thursday, 2 May 2024.
