Resident

I'm a resident

We give Islington residents the information and support you need to achieve your own goals, get involved in the community, make informed choices about your wellbeing and care, and stay as independent as possible.

I'm an older person

We want Islington to be a great place to grow old: where older people feel safe, supported and enabled to live independently, enjoy their lives and feel part of their community. We can support you to help you make the most of your later years.

Assessing your needs

We can work with you to decide the kind of support that you may need from social services.

Community support for older people

Islington is full of charities, services and community organisations that focus on opportunities and support for older people.

Direct payments

A direct payment is money to meet your care and support needs and help you live independently. Direct payments are the normal way Islington residents manage and fund their own support needs.

Report adult abuse or neglect

You can contact us to report adult abuse or neglect. If you think someone may need help we have information about types of abuse.

I have a physical disability

Islington residents with physical disabilities want, just like everyone else, to live independently, achieve their goals, and get on with their lives. Society places some barriers in front of them, but we have ways to support residents and help people overcome those barriers.

I have a learning disability

Residents with a learning disability often experience particular challenges: they are more likely to suffer poverty, poor housing, unemployment, isolation and discrimination. We support people with learning disabilities through an innovative and integrated service, the Islington Learning Disabilities Partnership. We support residents with learning disabilities to live happy, independent and fulfilled lives.
