The statutory safeguarding partners have joint responsibility for the multi-agency safeguarding arrangements. Where the accountable person listed in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 delegates their function, they remain accountable for the actions and decisions taken on behalf of their organisation. If delegated, it is the responsibility of the accountable person to identify and nominate a lead with enough seniority and authority to ensure full participation in these arrangements.

Representatives of the Partnership will be able to:

  • speak with authority on behalf of the safeguarding partner they represent
  • take decisions on behalf of their organisation or agency and commit them on policy, resourcing and practice matters.
  • hold their own organisation and other organisations to account for the effective participation and implementation these local arrangements.

The role of the Executive Partnership is to provide strategic leadership, direction and support to the Partnership to make sure it meets its statutory responsibilities.
