Mount Pleasant

The Royal Mail wants to redevelop part of the Mount Pleasant Sorting Office site. This is a significant site with considerable potential for redevelopment for a mix of uses whilst retaining the sorting office function.

Islington and Camden Councils have prepared a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) to guide future development on the site. The Finsbury Local Plan Development Plan Document also has a specific policy and site allocation for this site (policy BC6 and site allocation BC45).

The SPD will provide a greater degree of certainty to both the local community and the site owners by setting out in detail how the two councils planning policies will apply to any future redevelopment of the site.

The SPD and consultation report are available to download at the bottom of the page under SPD documents.

Planning Applications

Royal Mail submitted planning applications to the London Borough of Islington and Camden for the respective parts of the site in June 2013. Details of the Islington Planning Application can be found at (P2013/1423/FUL) Details Page
