Arts and culture Islington

Helping you provide creative training and employment opportunities

Helping Islington's arts and cultural organisations to recruit local apprentices, interns and Saturday staff.

We aim to provide an entry point into and a better understanding of what a potential career in the arts might mean by offering opportunities for Islington residents to undertake paid creative apprenticeships, internships, learning disability placements, Get Set for Work placements and Saturday jobs with some of Islington’s leading arts providers.

If you are an Islington-based cultural organisation or creative business and are interested in recruiting local talent through one of our schemes, please email for more information.

Creative apprenticeships and internships

Each year we team up with a number of the borough’s leading arts and cultural organisations to create a portfolio of creative apprenticeship and internship opportunities across the borough.

The opportunities are targeted at Islington residents who are currently unemployed or in some cases on zero hours contracts, aged between 16-24 years-old. Usually for a minimum of 30 hours per week and paid at the minimum wage, the roles are offered for an initial six or twelve month contract with the view to securing subsequent permanent employment in the sector.

Vacancies can range from theatre production to marketing, from fundraising to communications. If you are an arts organisation or creative business and are interest in joining our next cohort of employers please email

If you are a young person seeking a career in the arts please email to register your interest and we will send you details of future opportunities.
