The Word Festival is a borough-wide celebration of reading, writing and freedom of expression with the aim of highlighting the positive impact reading and writing can have on improving mental health and wellbeing, and on involving those who may find it harder to have their voices heard.
An innovative partnership between the Arts and Libraries services and our key partners All Change and Free Word, the WORD Festival runs throughout the month of June. Each year we call for expressions of interest from arts partners with whom we can collaborate to co-commission new projects designed especially for older people with dementia and their families, young people and the very young.
We also provide co-promotion opportunities to enable partner venues and arts organisations based in Islington to promote their ongoing work to the broadest possible local audiences under the umbrella of the WORD festival.
To find out how your organisation can apply for a commission or co-production or if you are a local business interested in supporting the Festival please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
