Census 2021 – temporary jobs

The census is a survey about all of us that is carried out every 10 years. It provides a picture of communities, which helps to plan and fund public services. Get Back on Track
If you’re an Islington resident and your job has been affected by the Covid-19 crisis then Shaw Trust’s Get Back on Track service can offer you advice and support on issues including furlough, annual leave, redundancy, changes to terms and conditions (pay, hours, etc.), managing mental health, working from home. Job help from Jobcentre Plus
The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) have launched an online support site for job-seekers that lists full-time and part-time vacancies as well as hints and tips on applying for jobs, how to use your transferable skills, staying motivated and support with redundancy. Find out more here

Training

Further education

Islington’s Adult and Community Learning (ACL) service offer free courses for Islington residents aged 19 and over or parents with children in Islington schools. Courses include digital skills, Maths, English, ESOL, vocational and employment skills, family learning and community learning. Find out more here.

Kings Cross Construction course (in partnership with College of North West London), starting September 2020. Priority given to Camden and Islington residents aged 16 upwards
