Tenant Resident Association meetings

TRAs normally have at least four general meetings in a year, open to all members in the catchment area to speak and vote. Dates and venues for TRA meetings vary according to the TRA committee members concerned.

Further information can be obtained from the Community & Service Development Officer at your Area Housing Office.

For TRAs to be recognised by the council, they must:

  • have a constitution providing a democratic structure or adopt the standard model constitution

  • hold annual general meetings

  • have a membership open to all council tenants and leaseholders in their defined catchment area

Recognised tenants associations are entitled to:

  • be consulted by the council on housing management issues

  • apply for grant funding from the council (Administration and Publicity grant)

The catchment area of the TRA must not overlap with the catchment area of another TRA.
