The Goodinge Community Centre development was granted full planning permission by the Planning Committee on 8 July 2014.
You can view the application documents, including plans and drawings, by following the link below. The planning reference is P2104/0950/FUL.
This presents the opportunity to redevelop and regenerate a site in council ownership to provide a larger community centre for the local community and 23 high quality homes in line with the local housing needs, particularly concerning the provision of affordable housing, for existing and future residents of Islington.
The redevelopment consists of the demolition and re-provision of the Goodinge Community Centre, with the construction of an additional five storeys of residential accommodation for 23 residential units, comprising 16 x 2 bed flats and 7 x 3 bed flats.
What happens next
The Council is in discussion with a contractor to build 23 new homes and a community centre on the former Goodinge community centre site in North Road.
The accommodation will contain 4 shared ownership flats and 13 for social rent. The remaining 6 flats will be sold on the open market.
The development is expected to be completed in 3rd/4th quarter of 2017/18.
