Anti-social behaviour, including noise

Islington Council is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) on behalf of our housing tenants and homeowners.

We will take appropriate and prompt action within our powers to deal with disruptive tenants and other persons causing a nuisance or harassment.

We have specialist ASB teams tackling ASB in each housing area in Islington. Our teams will work with you to tackle the issue and offer support and advice.

We take all reports of ASB and harassment seriously

When you report ASB you will be contacted within 24 hours of making your report.  Following this our officers may visit you to discuss or investigate your report. This will take place within five working days or within 24 hours in serious cases.

We will take appropriate action against those responsible where we have evidence. Our action will be based on how serious it is and the likelihood of resolving it. We may not be able to take any legal action if we have insufficient evidence. So we can help please try to give as much detail as you can on when, where, who, what, the impact and your contact details. See more information on our service promise.

We are also signed up to the Respect Charter for Housing, meaning we have promised to adhere to certain standards for handling ASB. For more on Respect visit the Chartered Institute of Housing's website
