Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA): Call for evidence

This consultation has ended

Start date 15 July 2015
End date 14 September 2015

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is a statutory local assessment of current and future health and social care, and supports the planning and development of local services. To get a better understanding of the community, the current health and wellbeing issues residents are facing, as well the local resources that are available to support residents, we are asking for your help. The Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) has a wealth of knowledge and experience of working with residents and we would like to ensure that the JSNA reflects this knowledge.

The current JSNA is available at the following online locations:

For the next update of the JSNA, we are inviting local groups and organisations to submit information about the health and wellbeing issues people are facing. We are particularly interested in knowing about what community resources and strengths exist in the local borough.

Information submitted will be reviewed to pull out key themes and issues and will be passed on to chapter leads to be incorporated into the relevant JSNA chapters. It will also be used to help develop the forward plan for the JSNA. This will be an ongoing process but we aim to provide feedback to you within the next six months.

If you would like to provide us with some evidence for consideration as part of the JSNA, you can do so by completing the 'Call for evidence' form and sending in any relevant evidence. We acknowledge that voluntary and community organisations may not have the time or capacity to complete this form so we are happy to accept different types of evidence, e.g. organisational annual reports, service evaluations, statistics, survey responses. If you need advice on what to submit, how to submit evidence or would like more details on the JSNA process in Islington or Camden, please contact us at jsna@islington.gov.uk or jsna@camden.gov.uk by telephone on (0207) 527 1261.

Please send us your evidence by email to the addresses listed above, or by post to: Camden and Islington Public Health, 3rd Floor, 222 Upper Street, Islington, N1 1XR. All information should be submitted by 14th August, 2015.
