Heatwave 2019 - there's loads on this summer

Heatwave, Islington’s summer activities programme for children and young people, is back with hundreds of free or low cost activities happening in the borough throughout July and August.

Lunch Bunch 

Lunch Bunch gives children aged 3-19 living in Islington, the chance to enjoy free fun activities alongside a free, healthy and nutritious lunch during the summer holidays.

Lunches will be delivered from venues around the borough, and there’s something to suit children and young people of all ages. Find out more about where Lunch Bunch is happening and whether you need to book a place here

Fun for under 12s

Libraries

Your libraries and heritage service have tonnes of fun sessions and activities coming up, as well as its annual Summer Reading Challenge 2019. This year the theme is ‘Space Chase’!

Islington Museum

Family day activities, interactive and educational exhibitions, and much more are taking place at Islington Museum across the summer!

Adventure Playgrounds (for children aged 6+)

Adventure playgrounds across Islington are fun, safe, welcoming, and FREE! They can also help keep your family healthy. No need to book, but children do need to register. 

Under 5s

We are running Bright Start activities for under 5s. A wide range of sessions will take place in children’s centres and community venues across Islington.

Teens - 13+

Once again, young people aged 13+ living in Islington can sign up for Summerversity.

The programme is packed with FREE activities and opportunities that cover everything from radio, theatre and music video production to animation, graffiti art and Carnival cooking. Places are given on a first-come, first-served basis and suitable for complete beginners.

Young adults - 16+

The Launchpad programme for young people aged 16+ is back by popular demand, with a wide range of FREE courses and workshops to help young people enjoy their summer holiday, learn new skills, get careers advice and gain new experiences to add to their CV. Places are given on a first-come, first-served basis and suitable for complete beginners.
