Neptune House

Shortlisted for Housing Design Awards 2012

The disused garage court behind Neptune House was accessed via a narrow laneway, and was the site of frequent antisocial behaviour. The proposed design created two new frontages for the site: a three storey terrace of four bed houses facing Arundel Grove, and a narrow three bed infill house inserted into the King Henry Street terrace.

The scheme creates five large family houses, while resolving the site's intractable security problems. The new homes are designed to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, and combine well insulated, bright and energy efficient accommodation with generous external gardens.
