Supporting People service providers will be aware the Department for Communities and Local Governement (CLG) have been working with a number of providers and Lead Officers in developing a national Supporting People Outcome Framework.CLG rolled out the outcomes framework for long term service on 31 July 2007. CLG rolled out the outcomes framework for short term services on 31 May 2007.
Short Term Services
Providers of Supporting People short term services will be responsible for completing the outcome form only when a service user departs the service. The completed outcome form is then sent electronically to St Andrew University, who will analyse the data on a quarterly basis.This information will then be sent directly on to Administering Authorities and CLG, information from the analysis will also be made available to providers of service by publishing on the SPK-web and St Andrews website.
Long Term Services
The long term outcomes form will be completed by providers of Supporting People services and will be completed on an annual basis only. For providers of sheltered accommodation CLG are asking that just 10% of services complete an outcomes form. With all other client groups CLG asks that50% of services complete an outcomes form. Sampling instructions will be provided in the framework and guidance by St Andrews University. The completed outcome form is then sent electronically to St Andrews University, who will analyse the data on a six monthly basis.This information will be sent by St Andrews on to Administering Authorities and CLG, information from the analysis will also be made available to providers of service via the SPKweb and St Andrews website.
