Who we are

The Ben Kinsella Award 2018

This year’s Mayor’s Civic Award will again feature The Ben Kinsella Award, a special youth award in memory of Ben to celebrate a young person whose positive actions and endeavours have made their mark on the local community.

This inspirational award will be open to any Islington resident 18 or under who is making a real difference to the local community. This might be in any number of ways, perhaps through voluntary activities, sport, music, drama, campaigning - the list is endless. What we’re looking to find and celebrate are those positive young role models that through contributing to the local community help to make Islington the place it is.

About the award

The Ben Kinsella Award is part of The Mayor’s Civic Award Scheme which acknowledges people’s hard work to improve the lives of others in our local community. We want to hear about a young person you think deserves recognition for their unique contribution to life in Islington.

This award will be judged by the Mayor and the Youth Council. The Mayor will present the winner of this Award with a framed certificate at our Civic Awards Ceremony on Thursday 15 March 2018.

All nominations for awards are treated in the strictest confidence. The nominee should not be informed that they have been nominated, as it is not fair to raise expectations in case they are not met.

The closing date for all nominations is Friday 20 January 2018.

To nominate a resident to receive the award, please either complete and submit the downloadable form attached or use the electronic nomination form on the link below.
