Elections on 2 May

Elections for the next Mayor of London and London Assembly members, as well as the by-election for Hillrise ward, will take place on Thursday 2 May.

You must now show photo ID when you vote at polling stations. See a full list of accepted forms of ID. You can also apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate in place of photo ID. The deadline to apply for this is 5pm, Wednesday 24 April.

Mayor's Civic Award and the Ben Kinsella Award

Every day across Islington, people who care about their local community make a positive and selfless contribution to the lives of others. These actions often go unrewarded.

Islington’s unsung heroes are present in every corner of the borough, whether they are volunteering at food banks, checking in on their elderly neighbours, supporting young people in crisis or even raising awareness of racial inequality.

The Mayor’s Civic Award and the Ben Kinsella Award schemes give us an opportunity to recognise people who are making an outstanding contribution to life in Islington. Read about last year's award winners on our media site.

Nominations are now closed and will reopen in the autumn/winter 2024.
