Inspection of Accounts

Are you interested in inspecting Islington Council’s 2016/17 accounts?

Our inspection period is: 10am on 26 June –  4pm on 4 August 2017

If you want to arrange access to our documents

By law*, any interested person has the right during the council’s audit period to:

  • inspect our accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them and
  • make copies of them (a charge may be made).

If you want to raise a query or objection with our auditor 

A local government elector for the area of the council, or their representative, may  

  • raise a query about the 2016/17 accounts during the inspection period  by contacting: Mr Neil Hewitson, Director, KPMG LLP(UK), at 12th Floor, 15 Canada Square, London, E14 5GL or
  • object to the council’s accounts and ask the auditor to issue a report in the public interest or apply for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to law (under section 28 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014). Written notice of the objection and the grounds on which it is made must be sent to the auditor at the address above and copied to us at the address below before 4 August 2017.
