Statement of Accounts

Each year, we produce a Statement of Accounts. The Statement of Accounts provides information about costs and income of the council's services for the financial year and liabilities and assets at the year end.

The unaudited 2017-18 Statement of Accounts was issued on 25 June 2018 and is now subject to external audit by our current auditors KPMG, which should be completed by the end of July 2018. The Statement may change as a result of the audit. The Narrative Report is contained with the Statement of Accounts.

The Annual Governance Statement that accompanies the Statement of Accounts is also available. Details of the Public Inspection of Accounts (1 June to 12 July this year) can be found below.

Notice of Appointment of Auditor

The Public Sector Audit Appointments (PSAA) has appointed Grant Thornton (UK) LLP as the external auditor of Islington Council, for the accounts from 2018/19 to 2022/23. This appointment was made under regulation 13 of the Local Audit (Appointing Person) Regulations 2015.

In July 2016 PSAA were specified by the Secretary of State as an appointing person under regulation 3 of the Local Audit (Appointing Person) Regulations 2015. Islington Council, in February 2017, decided to opt-in to the PSAA collective sector led appointment.
