If you live in a street property or flat you can arrange a free bulky waste collection for domestic rubbish through My eAccount, or if you live an estate this can be arranged through your caretaker.
You may have up to five items collected at a time. Items booked for collection must be left outside at ground level and accessible for collection on the date you select. If you cannot leave items on your property, items left on the public highway should not block access or pedestrians who may need passage for prams etc. Only the items you have listed or described will be collected.
Residents can have up to five items of bulky waste collected three times per year by appointment. This annual allowance includes the collection 'white goods' item, such as fridges, freezers, washing machines and cookers. However, these items can be collected Monday to Friday only.
We do not collect any trade, garden or DIY waste.
If you live on an Islington Council estate please contact your Area Housing Office or your caretaker. They will be able to tell you when and where you can safely place the item on the estate for collection free of charge. You do not need to book a service.
If you live in a private housing estate please contact your properties management company.
You can also take many items of your bulky waste to be recycled at the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre. Rubbish that cannot be recycled can also be taken to the centre. For more information, please click on the link on the right.
Islington Council has teamed up with London Re-Use Network and Bright Sparks to give unwanted furniture a new lease of life. You can request free furniture collections for items that are in good condition.
To find out more about the service and to book a collection, please visit our Furniture Reuse Collections page.
