The resident roamer scheme gives Islington resident parking permit holders the freedom to park in resident bays or resident shared use bays in any Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) in the borough between certain hours. So, if you are a resident with a valid resident parking permit the scheme saves you money on parking charges, as well as making it easier for you to shop locally or visit friends and family.
You must have a valid resident parking permit to use the scheme, visitor vouchers cannot be used to roam in Islington and can only be used in resident bays in the zone for which they are issued.
Hours of operation
The scheme operates from 11am to 3pm. At all other times, permit holders can only park within their local CPZ.
Exemptions
Please note, if you are roaming you cannot park in a bay solely for pay and display parking. You can only park in a resident bay, or shared use resident bay.
Resident roamer in the matchday zone
On match days the right to use your parking permit as a roaming permit ceases in certain controlled parking zones at different times. You can view a match day sign with an explanation of how you can use your permit to roam depending on the zone and the parking restrictions.
If you're not sure which zone you live in, or where the match day zone is you can view our detailed controlled parking zone map.
