Transport Information

Picture of fans outside Emirates Stadium

Emirates Stadium has a capacity of 60,000 people, which means local stations and buses that serve the area can be extremely busy on match days. Roads nearby the stadium can also get congested.

We have introduced parking controls which prioritise parking for residents and local businesses. Please check the controlled parking signs that are displayed on match days before you park.

Some stations have restricted access before and after a match, and there can be queuing. Please see the Emirates Stadium Local Transport Operation leaflet below, which explains all the common questions you may have about the operation of the public transport system on match days.

Highbury & Islington station - there is no down escalator service until mid-October 2013

Transport for London would like to remind passengers using Highbury & Islington station of the following:

While escalator refurbishment work takes place there will be no down escalator service.  Access to the Victoria and National Rail platforms is via stairs only and there will be delays of up to 90 minutes to enter the station after events at the Emirates Stadium.

To avoid these delays, you can make your return journey via Archway or Angel stations instead, using the signed walking routes.  If you use Highbury & Islington please note that queuing will be on the south side of Holloway Road. You must follow the route down Holloway Road as no access to the station or the queuing system will be available from Highbury Fields.

Please note that Arsenal and Finsbury Park tube stations will be operating as normal.
