About Us

Chapel market, Islington, c1900

Islington Local History Centre holds a wide range of resources about the history of the borough, including maps, photographs, census records, electoral rolls, trade directories and archive material. Our collections are available for research on family history, local history and many other subjects.

You don't need to live in Islington or be a member of our libraries to make use of Local History Centre facilities. However, an appointment is necessary in order to access our materials and we recommend that you contact us to book an appointment, or to speak with staff, so that we can provide the best possible advice prior to your visit. You may also wish to read our security and searchroom rules.

Alternatively, if you are unable to visit, we offer a limited paid-for research service.
