More than 900 people have given the council their views on ambitious proposals
to overhaul Finsbury Leisure Centre and Ironmonger Row Baths.
The massive level of feedback from the public has made this consultation,
which was carried out in partnership with EC1 New Deal for Communities, one of
the most successful of its kind, to be held in the borough.
The consultation report, available to download at the bottom of this page,
shows which elements of the four options we presented were particularly
popular or unpopular and highlights the many valuable ideas, which came out of
the consultation.
The results of the consultation have enabled us to put together outline
proposals, which take account of users’ and residents’ concerns and
aspirations for the site.
The next stage is to start working with design and construction firms and the
community to develop detailed designs, which will then be subject to a further
round of consultation. We expect that this will take place early next year. We
hope that you will continue to give us feedback and help us realise this
exciting project, which will become a major part of Islington’s Olympic legacy.
You can read the outline proposals for the site by downloading the document
entitled 'Ironmonger Row Baths and Finsbury Leisure Centre Next Steps' below.
Our proposals are detailed in section 3.7.
