Islington Council provides a doorstep refuse collection service to 87,000 households. This service means that we:
We can also provide assisted collections for people who cannot take their refuse to their edge of their properties and live alone.
The regular collection service means that your refuse has to be put out by a certain time, on a certain day.
Your rubbish needs to be put into a suitable refuse bag and placed in an accessible location by 6am (or as otherwise notified). Please do not use small, supermarket-type plastic bags.
It should not be placed on the public highway. Bags with building waste or bulky household waste will not be collected with your normal refuse collection.

The green garden waste collection scheme has started in a bid to help protect the environment and boost the borough's recycling rate.
The scheme is available to all street-side properties. It collects green garden waste including grass cuttings, clippings, leaves, garden weeds, plants and prunings and hedge trimmings.
All you need to do is place your bin liner of green waste out on collection day, open so it is clearly identifiable as green waste.
