During their first three years, young children are developing and learning more than they will at any other time in their lives. Research shows that the social interactions and experiences that young children have are crucial in influencing the structure and development of the child’s brain.
All of these experiences and interactions also contain an emotional element. If these are positive and children are able to develop secure attachments with important key people, at home and in the "out of home" setting, they will then be able to develop as emotionally resilient and secure.
